I have to say I was always a bit mystified by this....I mean H & Claire were the best known, highest profile members of Steps, and their music (as H & Claire) was fundamentally the same as it had been in Steps...a slight progression, but basically the same: antler-disco.

most of the fans were lisa lovers - if she had come out at the same time as h & claire she could have been huge - but she's left it a bit too long.

Also Steps' core fanbase are growing up (I count myself as an example - I bought their first and second albums) and quite rightly think H is an intolerable twunt.
