I've been to two in the last two weeks. God bless the Tussuads group.
Alton Towers - Was too scared to go on anything big. Classics include Runaway Mine Train, Pirate Ship (although woman who runs it is rude and a total bitch), Log Flume, Rapids, Duel (just for the sheer cheapness) and the Black Hole (sure it gets faster every year).
We nearly got thrown out for taking cups onto the log flume and emptying water over each other. Then we stole the Monorail Waiting Time 20 Minutes sign (complete with brass bollard) to go with our Monorail sign we stole last year.
The Webmaster on Ice show is a work of brilliance. Badly acted, mimed, the fireworks explode and break down, the skaters keep falling over on big moves and the finale.
Chessington - A poor imitation. Not many good rides but still quite fun. A highlight was swimming in the fountain at Beanoland and attempting to slide down the sides of it (don't think that's allowed). But it has Dodgems, which are surely the greatest fairground ride of all time.
Anyone been to any other good ones recently??

the best theme parks are all in america. these uk ones have nothing on them. nothing beats universal studios or disneyland. nothing.
i could go to the pleasure beach everyday if i wanted! but that would take al the fun out of it for when my dear mate Ann comes to stay in August. so im savinf myself for the time being.
you go on air? thats the only ride i really want to go on that i havent yet! grr, grr and more grr!

I love disneyland(eurodisney as well)and universal studios. the tour round universal studios is amazing when loads of things happen to you like volcano, mudslides etc.
Disneyland was great except for the fact that I had to look after a six year-old girl(her parents were friends of my parents and they just dumped the daughter on us because they didn't want to go in disneyland and they would have hated it)

Isn't the Pleasure Beach totally overpriced though? Last time I went (about 2 years ago) it was £25 for a day wristband. It's not that good. The Thunder Looper is wicked as is that cool log flume thingy, but I can't think of much else (Big One is one ride I will never go on). I wussed out of Air. It looked quite cool but I was feeling a bit queasy from a night out on the raz the previous night so I didn't venture on it. My friends loved it though. Universal Studios is indeed the greatest. Especially the Adventure Island bit; the water rides in there are wicked, all huge!

I went to Alton Towers last month and it was my first time on Air - it scared the beejesus out of me at first!! The initial "climb" really freaked me out as you literally can't see any restraints or track and the sheer nothingness between me and the ground was a wee bit much for Angsty... but then it all started going and before long I was screaming like a banshee and laughing my moobs off! I think they're the best kind of rides, the ones that take you through all the emotions - fear, excitement, knicker-wetting hilarity. Plus my very favourite thing about Air is that your ankles get restrained

Oh I loved Air when I went to Alton Towers last week. The queue was really quick too!
And my mates and I got to Nemesis when the weather was fine. Got into the station and were going to sit in the second row. The train arrived, and someone in the row behind had thrown up, so the attendants had to clear that up and sent the train away empty. We got on the next one, just as a huge storm started, so we went round being pelted with rain and got absolutely soaked. We had to run to shelter afterwards, and there was an announcement saying Nemesis was now having electrical faults. I think our train was cursed...

I'm really really scared of the big rides... was absolutely terrified on the Black Hole at Alton Towers, apparently it's one of the tamest rides there. Ah well. Does Air make your tummy go funny? It's that bit I can't stand; when you lose your stomach. Oblivion, therefore, looks like my worst nightmare. I love fast rides though - also thought Hex at Alton Towers was very strange. I'd never been on anything quite like it before!
