I'm not socially retarded.
But I really hate the fact that I go all shy around people I fancy and daren't go and talk to them.
That is definitely what I hate most about myself.

Whenever I meet anyone new, whether I fancy them or not, I shut up and hardly say a word. Then, once I've been in their company for half an hour, I open my mouth, a stream of garbled crap comes out which I hope is funny but generally isn't, and I act drunk even if I'm not. It's quite annoying, being annoying. You're me, then?

I just talk. Constantly. Incessantly. Inanely. To anyone who'll listen, and quite a few who aren't even pretending to. And if there's no-one there, I talk to myself. I think it's a disease. I suspect that people find me outgoing and amusing for about five minutes, maximum. Then they get the glazed look and I know they're wishing I would shut up and let them speak, or at least just stop to draw breath. I really, really hate this.

I act drunk even if I'm not. It's quite annoying, being annoying. Quite often when i get all excited and giddy about something, people ask me 'have you been drinking?' Its not my fault I get silly when excited. (anybody turn that into something rude and....well just dont ok!)

what i hate most about myself is the fact that I hate all these things about myself. even when people try very hard to prove that they're not true.
(one of which is.....) when i meet new people I try to seem not bothered, and end up being all arrogant and awful. or i say things that make them think that I'm a wierdo twat. I also fall into the trap of being far too aloof, which I think is quite sexy in some people, but not in me. aloof turns into distant and arrogant.

Slightly off topic, maybe it should be called "what I hate about other people" and that is those that don't listen when you say what you hate about yourself and they just tell you its fine when it clearly isn't!
Patronising twats......sorry for the rage !

That I care to much what people think about me. And I always think they think the worse.
And that I cant tell my left from my right (which nearly caused me to walk out of the kitchen at work and into a full restaurant with a bucket on my head).

ST. PAUL ON THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS-TYPE REALISATIONDo you think the fact that we're socially retarded is the reason why we all spend so much time on here? *checks posts count, checks they've only been here around 2 months* In my case definitely yes. Similarly to other people I say nothing to people I don't know but this generally lasts longer than half an hour. In fact it can last forever, I didn't speak to anyone throughout my whole three years at university. I'm OK at work but that's because I've been there for ages in the same place but there's still people there who have been there around eight months and I don't know their names. Also even the people I speak to quite a bit, I say nothing whenever in social situation, especially if there are more than two people there. I'm a good listener though. Quite a good gossip too. The two come in quite useful at these occassional times I do go out and watch everyone else talking.

I think most people think they're socially retarded - not just PJers. This is a bit odd but I hate myself at home cos I always get my own way - I am very good at getting my parents to take my side in everything and do stuff for me, but I always feel very guilty afterwards. The odd bit is that at school I am the opposite, I don't care what I do or get or whatever, the only thing I concentrate on is getting the day over with, so I let my friends choose what we do at lunch or if we're in groups in lessons and so on. If I could swap those things for a while that would be good.
