Personally, I don't know why this was nominated, but still, it hung around the Top 10 like a bad smell and probably saved his record deal. If we had an actual ceremony, inviting all the nominees, and he won, I'd dread his celebration...

Definitely seems to be the black sheep of the nominations.
Cannot stand Bedingfield, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this is his worst single.

Hideous pile of self-indulgent trash. Seconded. I'd rather see Bedingfool from Stars in Their Eyes win.

i'm puzzled - does ANYONE like either the artist or the song? didn't think so
this one stinks like a rotting whale and should NOT win under any circumstances, which almost certainly means it will
i really want to punch daniel beddingfield in the balls - don't you?

Do a garage song. Get a deal. Release songs that (the admittedly wonderful) Boyzone would never have considered for B-sides. Make millions. A Bed-in-field plan?

As I said in another thread, Bedders is from New Zealand isn't he?
I hate to be a picky bitch but...

I think this one is here for "effect" seeing as it was so popular.

I hate the cheesy lyrics to this one! Daniel comes across as a right wanker when he is interviewed, did you see him on popworld?

This is a lovely song - the lyrics are cornier than Oklahoma! but it's otherwise quite musically 'different' - the verses are slightly oblique with their phrasing - but that's kind of endearing. The chorus starts with the repeated 4th note finally resolving to the third - a classic yearning metaphor as masterfully (ab)used in Steps' "After the Love etc.". It's a useful melodic device (cliche?).
However, this song doesn't fulfil my ultimate criterion for the perfect pop song - it does not encourage the boys at poptastic to take off their tops and swing them round their heads whilst oscillating their hips. Therefore I hereby file this song under 'B' for 'bin'.

Daniel Bedingfield is pioneeing for entry in the OED under the definition of 'cliche'!!!! Blurgh to daniel!
