Dodgy - Good enough ( until about the 50th time in one day - a little overplayed at times I guess ! )
Take That - How deep is your love (sob)
Deep Blue Something - Breakfast at Tiffany's
Space - Female of the species
I was hating ...
Spice Girls - wannabe ( although i did learn to love 'em )

Watching Louise Wener on 'Live Forever' the other night, I was struck by how irritating she was to listen to when she spoke, all the time, absolutely always, and how annoying and irritating and annoying and irritating and annoying. And irritating. Though pretty. . i really liked her pop as default setting comment. when i saw it at the pictures, i got far too exited by the burnage footage. round are way! cringle fields! my mate' house! my [future] workplace! and so forth. i'd like to say this wasn't the case again on sunday, but it was.

Don't get me wrong; she's an attractive, intelligent, amusing young (ish) woman. It's just that she's got one of those speaking voices that I can't really listen to for more than about thirty seconds without getting really, really irritated. It's not really her fault, but still... I have the same problem with Geri Halliwell's irritating sloane-girl drawl. I get angry. Why does she feel the need to speak?

There was a girl in one of my tutorials last year who had the same voice as Geri and it was fucking frustrating listening to her drone on and on and on, making the most facile fucking observations, but clearly thinking that she sounded like the most insightful person in the group. "It's, like, Richard III is, like, I mean, he's really baaaaaaad. I mean, like, he kills people. And they're, like, his faaaaaamily. I mean, you know, that's really bad. I think you could even call him a villain. Like, he's so evil, and that's, like, just so not on. I mean, you know, is it?"She wore stupid shoes as well. ;D

last year about 30% of those in my tutorials were public-school educated, and quite obviously so.
but i did get to use 'give that man a double-barelled surname' as a put-down.
it works better spoken than written down.
god, university is so middle class. rugby shirts all over the shop.......

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome onto the stage todays 1996 acts!! Upside Down Never Found A Love Like This Before jeepers creepers (1 and 2).... weren't they that truly dreadful band (I use the term loosely) whose formation was filmed for (i.e. were put together as an excuse to make) a shitty multi part TV show.... I remember they were "managed" by some creepy antler-types who had no respect for A) music B) the poor band C) the general public, who they intended to be the willing victims of their ruse the manager twats sunk all their ££ into this band and lost every penny... that's what you get for bringing the antler profession into disrepute oh and Upside Down split from the evil two after 2 singles, rebranded themselves (bizarrely) as "Orange Orange" and promptly sunk without trace
