Heres an idea, we take it in turns to post a good Eurovision song, that we should all own, and have voted for, and songs that deserved nil points. Easy peasy pie. [glow=pink,2,300]Mighty[/glow] Dana- DivaTranny-licious (PS. The next song needs to be a shit one )

tATu should have won with Ne Ver, Ne Bojir. What an ACE song. But their performance was shit, they really couldn't sing live that night could they, and as for the talky bit in the break.... They still should've won though and would've were it not for Ireland.

'Lonely Symphony' by Frances Ruffelle, from 1994.
It was ace. In a vaguely anthemic sort of way.
We will rise / Never fall / And we will be free...
See? Perfect Eurovision lyrics. Why didn't it win?

I'll do something predictable but whichever Abba song(s) won. They were all pretty ace.

The best Eurovision song ever, from any country, was 'My Star' by Brainstorm, the Latvian entry in 2000.
It was fucking fantastic.
It didn't even sound like a Eurovision song. It stood out a mile. It was ace.
It came 3rd, so there is some justice. But clearly not enough, as it should've won.
The word 'Britpop' was bandied-about with reference to this song, which is a load of bollocks. It's just a lovely song with a guitar in it. But never mind.

Slovenia - 2001 - Energy
Generally fabulicious dance tune which I still listen to because of the bass fill...
#Energy! I feel such energy [ba da bud da bu da daah]...#
Sertab was very good this year too. Finally Turkey showed us there's more to them than Tarkan. It did kind of run off the back of Kiss Kiss though...
Netherlands - 1975 - Ding-a-dong
The lyrics are SO rubbish. I'm trying to find a version in Dutch to find out if it's just a really desperate translation but I have a feeling this was pre 'thou shalt sing in thy own language' - I may well be wrong though, so if you know of a Dutch version anywhere please let me know!
#ding a dong every hour / when you pick a flower / even when your lover is gone gone gone...#
