How much did this show rule?
I don't think I've seen a cartoon before or since that had so many good in-jokes and recurring minor characters (excluding The Simpsons).
It gave us Pinky and the Brain, after all:
BRAIN: Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering? PINKY: I think so, Brain, but juggling my career with a family, I just don't know.
And slightly less mighty although still rockin' was Chicken Boo:
Chicken Boo, what's the matter with you? You don't act like the other chickens do You wear a disguise to look like human guys But you're not a man, you're a chicken, boo.
Okay, reminscence over.

Brain: "Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?" Pinky: "I think so brain, but where will we find a chicken and a rabbi at this time in the morning?"

I preferred Tiny Toons.
Especially Furball and Gogo.
But Pinky and the Brain was very good.
I also liked the Catdog cartoon, but mainly because I felt sorry for the lead character.

Tiny Toons was also great. In many ways it was the precursor to Animaniacs and laid all the groundwork.
I'm sure there's a site somewhere with a complete list of all the "Pinky, AYPWIP" quotes. I'll have to find the URL.

The Brain: Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Pinky? Pinky: I think so, Brain, but where are we going to get two pairs of lederhosen in our size?

oh my god it ruled beyond all shadow of a doubt. I've got the three CDs that Rhino released of some of the songs....the first one was a constant fixture on family holidays for a good three years. It featured Wakko singing all the states of the USA and their capitals to a recognisable folk tune. My family now rule at pub quizzes.
