I used to love this. Haven't seen it for like 3 years since BBC2 stopped showing it. All about a Mounty(I think he was called Walker) and his dog who I think at one point was a ghost or maybe he was a ghost all the time, but anyway it was great. Don't you think so?

You're partly right.
It was great...
And then it went convulted and shit. Leslie Neilson started appearing with scary frequency as the Mounty's dead dad.
But it did make me want a husky - I still do... don't know if I'll call it Diefenbaker - a Canadian Prime Minister. Or president.

I loved it and I loved The Mounty. I can't remember his name, it's immaterial. The dog was supposed to be a wolf, but was deaf because he'd rescued the mounty from icy water. In spite of being a wolf and deaf he responded very well to oral instructions. The dad was a ghost. He was funny.

I used to watch it with my mum when i was about 8. I remember really wanting a husky dog as you do at that age. If i remember rightly didnt he have a sidekick and then the mounty was in hospital and he fell in love with one of the nurses or someone like that but she went off with his sidekick. I think something like that happened bur my memeories pretty vague

leslie nielson wasnt the mounties dead dad's ghost, he was the ghost of his dead dad's dead mate. mountie whose name escapes me (played by paul gross- i do remember that much) had two sidekicks- delvecchio, and then when he went into a big undercover opperation, another chicago cop pretending to be called delvecchio. this was probably when it went convoluted and wierd. the last episode had both delvecchios, and a big shoot out.

It was getting canned early on, so the BBC put some money up as a co-production to save it. Then they bounced it around the schedule.

i loved the first series of this, however, i felt that i lost respect for benton fraser as it went on, he was never the same after he fell in love, this ruined his xter for me, i felt it wasn't bein true to himself, i didn't like the replacement ray delvecchio either.
one up point was the theme music which i heard randomly the other day in Jumpin Jaks nite club in Cardiff, it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling (or was that the whisky? who knows!)
