The first series was excellent, much darker, and nice girls in expensive shoes talking 'up the bum' really did seem quite shocking back then. But it all got too soapy after Aiden turned up and Carrie quit smoking, and while I don't agree that the writing is lazy - apart from Carrie's truly awful voice overs; how come Aiden didn't know she was banging big when she wrote all about it in her weekly column?- it isn't really saying anything anymore, although the clothes are great, and I'm liking SJP's new straight hair.

Has anyone ever tried taking all the bits of one of Carries articles she voice-overs in an episode, and reading it as one thing?
It's hilarious.

i was never a big fan of aiden he could b a bastard sometimes He was an annoying twunt. He pronounced 'Carrie' as 'Kear-re' in a snivelling twunt voice. I hated him. But I hate all of them. Yet still I watch.

Why all the Aidan hatred Carrie is such a bint for what she done to Aidan. He was kind enough to take her back after cheating on Big and then she treates him like a dog. Sorry but Aidan was the best.I love you Aidan!

i don't like it so much now. i used to quite love the first few series. and then something went wrong somewhere. and i despise the title credits. they are so over-seen. and yet i can't stop watching it. and poor miranda. i was also in tears for her. and yes sjp's hair is far better now. didn't like that prada outfit one little bit.

I didnt like the dress as well. It was like a bin bag. Sometimes she gets it so right and then shell just have to and mess it up- the bag was scaring me as well. Charlotte, i think, always looks the best

I do love Sex in the City. And Aiden was just lovely - I have NEVER got the Big thing ( ;D ) at all.
However, we do have a weekly bet on to see how many minutes into the show SJP says 'I couldn't help but wonder.......( insert supposedly witty rhetorical question involving likening men and relationships to salad dressing or something........).
And I like the shoes. So sue me.

I have to admit to being highly amused by one particular line in SATC last week:
MIRANDA: (to Carrie) You need to start thinking about yourself for a change.
When has Carrie ever thought about anything else?

When has Carrie ever thought about anything else? I was just about to counter, but you're quite right.

Miranda or Samantha should be the main one. They are much more interesting.
