Yeah but the misfits, the misfits, their songs were better. The Misfits, The Misfits, we're gonna get her! They have to make Jem the Movie though with Britney.

I found a Jem video in a local second hand shop a few weeks ago. It is utter aceness! One episode features Jem & The Holograms (and naturally the Misfits too) at a magic show. At one point Jem gets kidnapped so the Holograms perform a song in an attempt to uncover the culprit, the lyrics are like "It could be you, it could be you, it could be you. Couldn't it? Couldn't it? Couldn't it? It could be you, it could be you, it could be you. You could be the guilty one". If Girls Aloud ever get a cartoon, I would hope they use that one. There's another ep where the gang go to England (to a county called Wissex, much like a New Zealander would pronouce Wessex) and meet the bestest english sterotypes since Three Men and a Little Lady. There's an fabby site at www.angelfire.com/rock/jem/realjem/frames.html which shows us how the Spice Girls rip of Jem, one of the bits of evidence is: I think it's conclusive.

Yes Girls Aloud should definitely redo this and have Atomic Kitten as the Misfits and Clea as the Stingers.
Though looking at the site there appears to be a clash between and That part has to be Nicola's.
Oh and the similarities between Jem and the Spice Girls is worryingly accurate.

Jem was great - i always wanted the doll because her hair changed as if by magic. I never got one but I did have two jem story books and an annual and also ( I think - ) a magazine.

I loved Jem as well. I remember wanting a bright pink wig for my sixth birthday and crying because I was given a football instead. It was the second campest moment of my childhood.

... the campest moment of my childhood being the time at nursery school when all the other four year olds had to sit around in a circle whilst I sang songs from The Wizard of Oz. And to think, I had three girlfriends back then. I was such a player, destined to be a gayer. Ho-hum.

i love Jem! i always used to root for the Misfits though as they were better than goody two shoes Jem.
I used to have the album on cassette and play it in the car on way to caravan holidays (my dad and brother hated me)
I remember a song by the misfits called 'Winning is Everything'

Not as camp as some of the kids at the school I work at - one stole his cousins barbie nightshirt to wear. Another chose the angel dress to wear when dressing up instead of any of the boys items ...

"Jem is truly outrageous, truly truly truly outrageous. Jem is my name, no one else is the same, Jem is my name"
I think the theme tune went.

anyone else feel sorry for the Misfits? why couldnt they ever triump over the Jem Girls, they were always humiliated at the end of each episode.
i was always on the baddys side in cartoons as a kid. Even nowadays, i felt really sorry for the girl in Cruel Intentions at the end when they all laughed at her. (sarah michelle geller)
