When I was 7 I went to a birthday party where they had a dancing contest. The prize was a Jem doll with red flashing LED earrings. I wanted that doll in a very serious way. Some kid's weird dad was going round judging our dance moves. The song was 'Walk like an Egyptian'. The heat was on. The other kids were all doing the traditional moves that go with that song, all identical little disco clones. But I knew something more was required to impress the dad and win the beautiful prize. So, with devilish cunning, I spun the world of dance on its head and did the Egyptian move from side to side rather than front to back. I impressed that dad and I won that doll. And it was a great doll.
