I just read We're So Famous by Jaime Clarke. It's the most low culture book of all time. "Imagine Britney Spears narrating The Day of the Locust as a gentle fable..." is what Bret Easton Ellis had to say about it.
Yesterday, I watched Popular.
And then Hairspray.
Both of these are very low-culture. And very fabulous.
Then I went to a gay club and danced my ass off. To Britney. To Beyonce. To Justin. To early Madonna. To Blondie. The B-52's. Kylie - five times. Then Justin again. Oh, and the missy madonna corporate bootleg, which my friends all love. It was a very lowculture sort of day. That's why my sentences aren't very long. I can't hold a thought for longer than an MTV soundbyte.
Finally, how come Geeks and Freaks never got onto terrestrial TV?

I remember seeing Popular about a year ago and hating it - it was like an angstier Dawson's Creek.
I watched it again yesterday and nearly laughed myself sick. It was pure genius.
"....i keep remembering her last words" "What were they?" "I like big butts and i can not lie......."

Oh, and the missy madonna corporate bootleg, which my friends all love. I don't like it, Madonna can go yoga herself off a tall tantric plane for I care. Still as quasi-religious childrens books go its good that its not Christian at heart. Pity it's more about her making money, cementing her status as 'icon' and getting a face lift than teaching children semi-Jew stories. ps I like some of her music sometimes

More than her older stuff (which is still great) I mean I dont want to be all zealotish but I just happen to like her music. Hooray for me!

She worships at the altar of the mighty Upyourownarse! She's clearly better at the Yoga than I had thought.

She's clearly better at the Yoga than I had thought. Why do you think she took up yoga in the first place?

Gotcha, BF. That would also explain the constant tinny 'echo' effect on her voice...

ps - popular was the best thing about channel 5 and now its gone, all gone! They're repeating it, though - that's better than nothing! Would this be a good time to bring up my "would anyone support an online petition for Popular to be released on DVD" argument?

as far as i'm concerned madonna has finally cracked. is she hindu? buddhist? jewish? christian? zoroastrian? pagan? Who does she think she is, Boy George? I have even gone off ITV because they seem to show that Missy & Madonna ad in every single ad break and it is destroying my will to live. I don't care if Madonna sinks to the lowest of the low, but did she have to take Missy with her?
