Hurrah! PJ put the info up before they've even done the thread for it! And as this is the actual Single Of The Day, they can't take this down! As PJ usually say, this is a corker. And IIRC, wasn't Tina from S Club in the video for this? "This Is Hardcore" gets... 8/10

it is sooo long since I listened to any Pulp stuff I can't even remeber how this goes! I just know it wasn't one of my favourites. did I mention I was at the same school as Jarvis? oh, I did didn't I?

Surprised, but happy by this choice. I'm a big Pulp fan and this is definitely their finest single moment (best actual moment is Day After the Revolution, but I digress), perfectly paced, beautiful string sample, some of Jarvis's best lyrics and performance of said lyrics. It's a definite 'wow' song.

So glad that this means I don't have to be punished for quite liking Pulp. Excellent song.

Damn right. She was a showgirl. Oh God. My joy at most things concerning The Mighty Pulp is now exceeded by the overlapping presence of The Mighty Fine Tina S Club. That vid would have been tremendous without her though. Even though one of the band does look like Norman Bates in it. *digs out Pulp videos to look for Tina*

The mighty [glow=red,2,300]LOLLY[/glow] was also in the video Which reminds me, on an S Club/Lolly note, there's an episode of Miami 7 where Viva La Radio is playing in the background... which is I'm pretty sure the only time a non-performed-by-the-Mighty-S song is played in any of their shows. Could this mean that they recorded a version before Lolly's people snapped it up? When did the Lolly one come out? Who cares? Me.

This is hardcore is truly a tune of harcore mightiness!
Viva viva viva la Pulp! Jarvis is God, Tina and Lolly in one video? Popjustice galore!!!
Did I tell you Jarvis perved at me once?! I Camden town of all places (OK, my excuse is I used to live there - I wasn't visiting for tourism purposes!) I thought "Who's that man perving at me? Shit! It's Jarvis Cocker!" Unfortunately he'd already passed by this moment of realisation... *sob*
