My dark horse, simply because I can't remember ever hearing it. Has done well just to be nominated.

It's ace. I still prefer 'Blue Jeans', though.

Everything by Ladytron ever is so ace I've even honoured them by quoting them under my avatar. Blue Jeans is better I think, but maybe it wasn't released in the eligible period?
Oh, and Startup Chime should be the next single.

If Ladytron won it would be an underdog triumph in the style of B&S-at-the-Brits, I think it could happen. Ladytron are pretty much The Best Band In The World at the moment so they are my toppest choice although there is extraordinarily close competition here.

Oh, and Startup Chime should be the next single. I'd go for Cease2xist, myself. I would have gone for Evil but that's already out, I think. Seventeen should be a frontrunner, it's dead classy.

Yeah, Cease2exist is another of my favourites off the album. Flicking Your Switch is also.
Didn't know Evil had been released! I'm so not up to date with the whole Ladytron scene!

Released a week or so ago, comes with their cover of Oops, Oh My as a b-side, so it is, basically, an essential purchase. This would be my choice for the winner out of the 11 tracks already picked. And it does sum up the pop world very well.

How weird...I mean, didn't 'Blue Jeans' come out only a few weeks ago? June 30th I thought.

they aren't pop and hence i veto them
they weren't gonna win anyway let's be honest
and is it just me or was this song crying out for more lyrics?

They *are* pop.
As much as I love it, it does seem a little bit 'token alternative song' though.
The repetition of the lyrics is merely intended to echo the cyclical repetitive nature of the pop industry or some such. That's my policy anyway.

they are not pop - i once read about them in an nme that i found lying around and certainly didn't buy - this places them firmly in the trendy/indie camp - INEXCUSABLE
i don't care how much i like the song... it's not winning!

Yes, the evil indies do like them a bit too much, but I think they're only pretending because they read about them in NME, and really they're thinking 'Urgh what is this dance-pop monstrosity. I want my Strokes CD back mummy'.
My reason for not wanting it to win is that it isn't No Good Advice or New Direction.

Ahh, it's all pop to me.
I hate the whole 'this is pop', 'this is indie', 'this is rock', ' this is dance', 'this is r'n'b' etc thing.
Pointless, pointless distinctions. A lot of stuff can be all those things and more! Yay!
Not that I'm saying there isn't dance music, rock music etc - but the boundaries can be nice and blurred. It keeps life interesting and varied.
Ladytron are most definitely pop.

That's the argument used by middle-aged swingers and bisexuals though, and we all know what happens to them...

you're both foul hippies
i am a pop nazi, and ladytron just got dachau-ed
so you can shove your liberal attitudes and blurred distinctions where the sun don't shine! ha!
