She was PWL's Japanese answer to Kylie.
While she couldn;t sing, her two songs were brilliant.
We SHould Be Dancing was her Lucky while What Kind Of Fooll (not the kylie song, and even better) is a gem worthy of some covering please.
WOnder where she is now.

love the songs. the name leads to some unfortunate mispronounciation, though (at least i hope it's a mispronounciation)...

Ah yes, the aptly named Kakko!
I found "What Kind of Fool" on 12" for the bargainous price of 20p and it's ace, one of my fave obscure PWL tracks.
I heard she is now a TV presenter (big in Japan!) who plays down her shameful pop past...
Maybe Jennifer Ellison could cover it?!

What a briliant idea.
I fear that blonde bimbo is gonna go for 'classy' pop like Atomic Kitten
Where are the bimbos gone?

Ah Kakko...I remember seeing her on Sat morning TV years ago singing "We Should Be Dancing" and it always stuck in my head for years afterwards. I remember thinking that it hadn't been released as I kept listening to the Top 40 and she never appeared!

seventeen. no, no one else believes me either, but 'tis the truth! 17? That's only two years older than me, I thought you'd be in your early twenties! You must be very mature for your age. Jessica

I'm 22 so stop that young/old/mature talk right now as it might make me feel old and imature. Never heard of kakko though but I'm a reformed pop fan after spending my teens as an indie-kid.

Ohmigod, humantorch, are you my alterego? Snap, snap and snap. I'm glad I've seen the popjustice-light. who cares about credibility, anyway?! but seriously, I'm glad I'm not the only "we'renotthatoldreally" 22 yrold on here, as was also feeling "old but immature". This is not a good thing.

and who, in the name of God was Kakko?! Maybe she was in my "indie" phase, or not very widely publicised? Unfortunate name though *smirk*

22 isn't old. See Panda's birthday thread. It's all fine. It's not a quarter of your life gone. We don't have to start buying David Gray albums, or listen the the Lighthouse family. Mosy importantly: some popstars are still older than us!!!

True, true. Kylie's at least 49, isn't she? that's over two of me! Ugh. The lighthouse family. Hell, they should be on the "who should split up next" poll. Bloody hell, they were abysmal weren't they? Ah... fourteen minutes and counting... does the fact that I only post during working hours say something about my job? Shucks.... Hell, I wish I was a popstar... I got approached once and asked to join a girl-band - I said no - fool! who knows what fruit that could have produced...

I like the Lighthouse Family But I'm just as happy listening to Daphne and Celeste. Variety is the Spice of life!
