I found a wallett ages ago and it had £140 in cash in it, luckily the guy left his address in the wallett so i sent all the cards and actuall wallet back and kept the dosh.
i put a little note in with it that said 'kept the money as a reward for finding your wallet xx'
man i used to be such a bitch.

Not that i'm judging you or anything(here it goes) i would never do something like that because i believe what comes around goes around and i wouldn't like that same thing to happen to me, and also because i am a nice person. I'll give you an example- my mum's friend went to a cashpoint after someone had just left it and money came out of the machine. She ran after this person to give him the money back and later that year she herself lost her wallet in heathrow airport and a cleaner returned it.

i'd like to refer you all to the case of finders vs. keepers..... is that the same case as dishonesty vs. honesty?

Well I'm with NatWest and don't have a cashcard so the only way I can withdraw money is going to the bank and writing a cheque for cash. They never ask for *any* ID, but of course that could just be down to my good looks and sophisticated charm

no, its the same as lionel hutz vs. mr burns boss lawyer with blue hair.
and keeping what you find isn't strictly dishonest. lying about finding it would be. southernangel was being far from dishonest, clearly stating where the money went.
but that wasn't my point.

Yeah, I had a cashcard, but I was reckless with it so I cut it up. Having to go to the bank makes me take out less money because it's at least a five minute walk there and I'm a lazy, lazy boy.

Well, 99% of the time if I'm out it's in Manchester, and I have enough friends who are at uni there and live in walking distance of the city centre that I can turn up on their doorstep and cry at 3am. Otherwise phone my parents, cuz I'm just a little girl you see

I don't think you do to write a cheque for cash. I've done that loads of times when I've lost my cards.......
