Leading on from a private discussion Nick and I were having, it is a truth universally acknowledged that some names are really, really gay. And that sometimes you can almost take someone's gayness for granted because of their name.
Really Gay Names that we came up with included: Andrew Chris Jeremy Matt Rupert Simon Steven Stuart
Any other Really Gay Names that people can think of would be gratefully accepted (although libellous comments about celebrities are best avoided where possible).
But we had real difficulty thinking of Really Straight Names, names that you'd generally assume someone wasn't a gayer. The only one we came up with so far was Phil, but someone might want to correct us on that. Anyone have any Really Straight Names?

Charles, Harry and Cecil are fairly screaming.
Luke, Brad and Joe are your straight chaps.

I think you'll find Lukes are 'possibly bisexual'.
They still won't kiss you though. They'll settle for a hug. Ah well.

I bow in the presence of your superior Luke knowledge...or not...

Well, they won't have acted on it before, but it'll have crossed their minds when watching 'Women In Love'.
And they'll still be reeling from your vaguely drunken confession that you spent the last nine months 'kind of in love' with them.
But they'll be very understanding about it. They're good people, the Lukes.

I feel this is also an appropriate place to point out that nobody from the North of England is called Julian.

I would like to proffer Bob as a Really Straight Name. Also William for the gays.

Actually James must be quite a gay name, on the grounds that I've known several gay couples where both guys were called James.
