It was very ace. The soundtrack really helped it. I loved the last scene where the beginning song went over dennis waterman going through the town and seeing that everyone had been taken for a ride by the guy.

Billie was excellent. Good singer, ugly, really unattractive husband? Must have a hit little too close to home for Chris...

Loved it purely because it's the kind of adaptation that would have the people on my English degree a few years ago up in arms. And most of them would take the p*** because Billie was a pop singer but would see the one with Julie Walters as better simply because she's a better known and posher actress. Though I found Billie sexier with the underwear on than off:

I thought the thing as a whole was pretty weak.
Billie was good, nothing spectacular but she seem a capable actress.
The only thing that really kept me watching was the hairdresser guy.
Looking forward to next week because of Julie Walters. She is a better actress full-stop, if not 'the' best British actress. She's the type of actor who raises everything she's in a notch.

I Hate James Nesbitt...and rubbish camera zooms. And teenage thugs who say "What are you getting at?" - Chaucer was never that unrealistic, i think

To be honest I only really watched it willing Billie to do well. I studied the Tale in University so couldn't care less how good the story was. I quite liked her, she played the part well, as did James Nesbitt. Dennis Waterman wasn't very good though. Yet whilst I know Julie Walters is the better actress I doubt I'd have the same interest in next weeks than tonights.

Billie was pretty decent. Looks like we're going to be seeing a lot more of her on TV. Probably in those shitty ITV Drama Premieres
The script was crap though. I had to cringe through some of the dialogue thinking "That Chaucer fella couldn't have written THAT shit?"

It was too short, I thought. It seemed a bit too concise, they should have stuck an extra 15 minutes on.

I'd forgotten about how hot she was until I saw her in a magazine a few weeks ago and...wow
I know she's in The Calcium Kid but I haven't heard anything good about it. It's been moved about the schedules time and time again, and that is never a good thing either.
I think that might be the extent of her movie career. Unless she meets a big film exec type person and starts seeing him behind her slightly older husbands back in order to get big parts in movies...
Or was that just a TV programme?

I was fairly impressed with her. I forgot she was Billie about halfway through, which is normally a fair indication that their doing a semi-decent job. Thought the old guy singing This Charming Man was quite funny too.
But can I just say WHEN is Kenny Doughty going to get a decent part ? Even with the dodgy hair, clothes and.....'gulp'........y-fronts last night he was lovely. He was gorgeous in the film Crush and since then all he's had is crappy Servants !!! GIVE HIM A LEADING ROLE !!!
