Hello!
If, under your name, you see Popjustice Member*, it means you can post in our new secret special board. If you don't have the star, you can't.
If you haven't got a star yet, don't panic. I have to add the stars manually. (PM me if you think you require urgent attention.)
People will usually be awarded stars on the strength of their last ten posts.
I thank you.

I have four shiny stars in my profile - is that what you mean? I don't see a special secret board though. Shoot.

If your posts are consistently good, you'll get a star.
Easy.

My posts are consistently good! *boasts*
(I wonder how I slipped through the system? Oh well, I'm not complaining!)
Mr PJ - will you also take stars away if people start being stupid?

I require urgent attention. But that's a whole other story which has nothing to do with stars!

Yes, stars can be taken away.
Jen, don't feel victimised. You're only ten good posts away from a star.

So, stars can be taken away but can they be awarded? Or is it all happening now and if your last ten posts were shit then you dont get it ever?

At the moment I'm giving stars to people who know what the board's about, have been here from the start, and have added to its usefulness in the past few months.
As you can imagine, with over a thousand registered members it's going to be difficult to make sure everyone who deserves a star gets one immediately, but hopefully within the next week or so the people who deserve a star will get one. And yes, you can earn a star. Which is what I meant when I said that to Jen - she is literally ten good posts away from a star.
Fairly obviously, the ultimate aim of all this is for people to improve the quality of their posts. I know it's a pretty clumsy way of doing it but I'd rather do it like this than start a new messageboard, from scratch, somewhere else.
